Hornady’s Frontier label ammo is built for pretty much any kind of shooting you could set your mind to. These 223 Rem cartridges offer great versatility: Load them in any kind of firearm, be it a range toy or a precision instrument, and you’re going to be satisfied by their consistent feeding and extraction, trajectories, recoil and point of aim.
This round has Hornady’s own HP Match projectile, which at 55 grains offers a real familiar muzzle velocity of 3,240 fps out of a 24” barrel. The HP Match has its manufacturer’s signature Advanced Manufacturing Process jacket, engineered to do away with concentricity flaws that could send trajectories off course. Its lead core is form-fitted to contribute to even greater in-flight stability. Although this particular hollow point bullet design doesn’t give way to terminal expansion, we still think it’s good for varmint hunting and personal protection when the situation merits.
This round’s nonmagnetic bullet is paired off with a new production brass case, precision drawn and correctly annealed to ensure ongoing reloadability. It has a military-grade boxer primer and propellant charge because it was loaded at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant – the U.S. Government’s primary small arms ammo factory.
