The Israelis take their ammo production very seriously – and there’s little wonder why. That’s why IMI, the country’s chief small arms ammo manufacturer, churns out such reliable ammunition for self-defense.
This 9mm cartridge is designed to incapacitate a threat fast with its 115 grain di-cut jacketed hollow point bullet. The “di-cut” in the bullet’s name doesn’t actually mean very much – its profile is indeed enhanced to promote smoother feeding in a semi-automatic firearm, and the aggressive notching around the bullet’s tip serves to promote more uniform terminal expansion.
This round’s bullet exits a 4” barrel at 1,150 fps. (Lengthen the barrel by 1” and that muzzle velocity amplifies to around 1,212 fps.) The nonmagnetic JHP penetrates ballistic gel (which has the same density as swine flesh) to a depth of around 12.5” and expands in diameter by about 50 percent. All in all, exactly the kind of terminal performance that you want in your carry weapon.
IMI makes non-corrosive ammo with sealed Boxer primers and bullets, as well as with new brass cases which offer reliable feeding and extraction as well as the opportunity to handload later on. Do you have a firearm chambered for 9mm? Then here is your ammo!
